Alice A Benson

Alice A. Benson, age 90, formerly of Alpena, passed away peacefully at Tendercare of Gaylord on Monday, April 4, 2016.
Alice was born on April 8, 1925 in Detroit, Michigan to the late George and Mary (MacGregor) Beveridge. On January 26, 1946 she married Benjamin J. Benson in Alpena, he preceded her in death in June of 2000. Alice was a member of the New Wives Welcoming Committee and Card Club. She also enjoyed camping.
Alice is survived by her two children: Jack (Molly) Benson of Alpena and Pamela (Ralph) Miller of Ossineke. Her 11 grandchildren: Tina, Missy, Jackie Jo, Sharon, Christopher, Sherri, Amber, David, Mary, Megan, and Carolynn, along with 6 great-grandchildren, along with, several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her son James Alan, granddaughter Jennifer and her brother George, her two sisters Janette Fowler and Bernice McAlpin. Family and friends will gather for visitation on Friday, April 8, 2016 at the Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at the Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home at 3 p.m. until the Funeral Service begins at 4 p.m. with Rev. Gary Smith officiating.
