Donald L. Tovey, age 84, of Alpena passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 10, 2021, at home.
On October 15, 1936, Donald was born in Alpena, Michigan to the late Richard and Norma (LeTourneau) Tovey. Don was the owner and operator of Tovey's Garage. He was a member of the Alpena Eagles Club.
He is survived by his 6 children: Timothy (Angie) Tovey of TX; Karen Tovey of Alpena, MI; Robin (Larry) Martin of Brown City, MI; Annette (Lawrence) Paad; Billiejo (Joel) Foster and April (Jeff) Robinette all of Alpena, MI; 19 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; three sisters: Patricia Glomski and Carol (Darrell) Ulch both of Alpena, MI; and Janet (John) Roy of FL; along with several nieces and nephews.
Donald was preceded in death by his son Donald H. Tovey; one daughter Sheri Lynn Tovey; grandson Timothy Jr.; two sisters: Judy VanSipe and Marion Berkowski; and four brothers: Richard, Robert, Charles "Otto" and Gerald Tovey.
Family and friends will gather for Memorial Visitation on Friday, April 16, 2021, at Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home from 1:00 pm until the Memorial Service begins at 2:00 pm with Darrell Ulch officiating.
Inurnment: Holy Cross Cemetery
In memory of Donald memorials may be made to American Lung Cancer Association.
