A devout Catholic, she took her family to church every Sunday. During the 1960s, she and her husband rented out the cottages on Long Lake that they owned. She became friends with many of these folks who would return each summer and continued to correspond with them for years later. She and her husband Arthur belonged to the Original Michigan Fiddlers Association and she enjoyed traveling around the state for the music jamborees.
