Edna C. Schliska

            Edna C. Schliska, age 78, of Saginaw, Michigan formerly of Alpena, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 15, 2018, at St. Mary's Hospital in Saginaw, Michigan.

            On June 6, 1940, weighing only one and a half pounds Edna was born to the late William A. and Edna (Prevo) Schliska in Alpena, Michigan. As a premature baby, she was sent home in a shoe box and kept warm by an old cook stove before incubators were developed. She was not expected to live up to three years old, let alone having a loving life up to the age of 78. Luckily love of the family kept Edna strong, she was her mother's miracle baby. She lived many years in Detroit, Michigan, moving to Saginaw, Michigan over 10 years ago. Later in life she became a member of St. Francis of Assi of Saginaw. A special thank you to the Community Village and the Great Lakes Pace Organization for their loving care.

            Edna is survived by her brother Clyde (Anne) Schliska of Perry, MI; one sister-in-law Rosalie Schliska of Saginaw, MI; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

            She was preceded in death by two sisters Gloria (Mrs. Robert Glenn) and Marie (Mrs. Raymond Stepanski); two brothers William (Florence) Schliska and Edward Schliska.

            Family and friends will gather for visitation at Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 18, 2018, from 2 pm until 8 pm. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home from 10 am until the Funeral Service begins at 11 am with Fr. Scott Lawler officiating.

            Interment: Holy Cross Cemetery

            In memory of Edna memorials may be made to the Community Village in Saginaw, Michigan.
