Eugene 'Gene' A. Hochrein

Eugene "Gene" A. Hochrein Jr., age 54, a lifelong resident of Alpena, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Thursday, September 7, 2017.
On December 25, 1962, Eugene was born in Alpena, Michigan to Eugene and Katherine (LaPointe) Hochrein Sr. He married Patricia L. Urbaniak on July 21, 1989. Gene worked for over 30 years as a welder, and most recently for LaFarge Holcim. He was a real home body, taking pride in his family and his many classic cars. A real "gear head" they may say.
Gene leaves behind his loving wife of 27 years, Patti and their two sons: Blake and Brandon Hochrein of Alpena, MI. Along with his two grandchildren, his mother Katherine Potter or Westland; 2 brothers, 3 sisters, and his mother and father-in-law Bob (Carol) Urbaniak of Temperance.
Family and friends may gather for a visitation on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home from 2 pm until the Celebration of Gene's Life begins at 5 pm at the Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Hochrein family.
