Eva 'Eve' A. Mouilso

April 10, 1930 — April 27, 2020

      Mouilso, Eva “Eve” A. 90, of Alpena, MI, passed away peacefully of natural causes, on April 27, 2020. She was surrounded by loved ones.

       On April 10, 1930, Eva was born to the late Evert and Aina (Lantto) Toro in Toivola, Michigan. She graduated from Hancock High School and moved to Detroit for employment and attended night classes at Schoolcraft College. She graduated in 1974.

     On August 2, 1952, she married William E. Mouilso. He preceded her in death on November 8, 2002.  

     Eve was employed by Great Lakes Colleges Association for 24 years, retiring in 1988 as the Administrative Officer. She was a very active member of National Secretaries Association (NSA) since 1961. She served as President of the Town and Country Chapter of the NSA in Livonia, and also as Co-Chair of the Michigan Division Annual meeting. She was selected Secretary of the Year for Michigan Division in 1968. As a member of NSA she was a Certified Professional Secretary, an achievement in which she took great pride.

      Eve and Bill made their home in Presque Isle in 1988. She became a Master Gardener and was active in numerous organizations including Ford T-Bird Ski Club, Friends of the Library Board of Review, Presque Isle Harbor Association, Jesse Besser Museum Founders and Garden Club. She served as docent at Presque Isle 1905 Lighthouse Keepers House. Eve was preceded in death by two brothers, Toivo and Don, and is survived by friends and family in the United States and in Finland.

     Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the Karpus – Hunter Funeral Home, Alpena. The interment at Toivola Cemetery will be handled by Antila Funeral Service.
