Herbert W. Wilcox

Herbert W. Wilcox, age 88, of Alpena passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Sunday, March 15, 2020.
On January 4, 1932, Herbert was born to the late John and Edna (Weir) Wilcox in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. On February 13, 1954, he married Ardith Winston in Grayling, Michigan. Herb owned and operated the Wilcox Cement Contracting Company for 45 years, retiring in 2010.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Ardith and their two children: Ronald (Joann) Wilcox of Palm Springs, CA and Debra (David) Korkosz of Alpena, MI; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister: Dorothy Williams of FL; and several nieces and nephews.
Herbert was preceded in death by one great-grandson: Kylyk, two brothers: John and Roland Wilcox; two sisters: Edna Babbitt and Marie Iverson.
Family and friends will gather at Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home on Thursday, March 19, 2020, from 12 pm until the Funeral Service begins at 2 pm with Pastor Leslie Nye officiating followed by Full Military Honors accorded by the V.F.W. Post 2496 at Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home.
Interment: Evergreen Cemetery
