James Francis Piper

James F. (Jim) Piper, 94, of Alpena, passed away peacefully February 24, 2024 at Medilodge of Greenview. Jim was born on February 17, 1930 in Alpena to Fran and Mary (Ceglarek) Piper. He married Dolphine (Dolly) Greskowiak on Sept. 11, 1954. She preceded him in death on April 28, 2023. 
Jim is survived by his daughter Elizabeth Piper of Alpena and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, Walter (Betty) Piper, Jane (Richard) Kapanka, Grace (Harold) Hahn, Phyllis Schultz, and Eunice (Doug) Basel. He was also preceded in death by his sisters in law, Gladys (Leo) Kelsey, Doris Greskowiak, and brother-in-law Ronald Grey.
Memorial visitation will take place on Friday, April 26, 2024 at Ross Funeral Home from 1:00 P.M. until the time of service at 2:00 P.M. with Fr. Aloysius Okpala officiating. Inurnment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider a memorial contribution to Hospice Compassus or Huron Humane Society.
