Marlene Marie Werda, 87, of Alpena, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2023 at Davison Family Home. She was a kind, caring, and loving, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend that will be dearly missed. Marlene was born on September 5, 1936 to the late Delmar Daly and Sybil Barton in Alpena, Michigan. She attended St. Bernard’s Catholic School as well as the church prior to her moving to Pontiac. Marlene loved the Alpena area and visited often. Eventually, she returned to what she referred to as “home for good”. On June 2, 1962 Marlene married the love of her life Ronald Werda at St. Mary Catholic Church. They were married and raised their family together for nearly 29 years until he preceded her in death in 1991.
Marlene sold Avon products for over 30 years and enjoyed all of her customers. She also was the recipient of many prestigious performance awards including the “spirit of Avon” award. She was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church, All Saints Rosary Society, Alpena Lifelong Learners, and a lifetime member of VFW Post 2496. Marlene enjoyed singing, playing board games, reading, learning about history, and country music.
Marlene was a loving mother and often was a part of helping many that knew her. She leaves behind her children, Greg, Cindi, Francie, and Scott, seven grandchildren, and many friends.
Family will receive friends for visitation at St. Anne Catholic Church of All Saints Parish on Saturday, December 9, 2023 from 9:00 A.M. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. with Fr.
