Marvis J. Woloszyk, age 90, of Alpena, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 16, 2020, at Turning Brook.
On July 20, 1929, Marvis was born to the late Reinhold and Gretchen (Langas) Behnke in Alpena, Michigan. She married Harry Woloszyk on July 14, 1951, at St. Mary Catholic Church; they were blessed with 38 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on October 28, 1989. Marvis worked for Linke's Flower Shop for 40 years, and as a dietary aide at Alpena General Hospital for 10 years, along with volunteering her time at the Huron Humane Society. She was a member of the Huron Shores Fellowship Church and their choir. Marvis enjoyed going to church and bible studies along with working with flowers, gardening, and decorating for every holiday. She was a wonderful neighbor, Grandmother and Aunt to her family.
Marvis is survived by her two sons: Mark (Joanna) Woloszyk of Fair Oaks, CA and David (Kathleen) Woloszyk of Hastings, MI; one grandson: Christopher, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one daughter: Kristie Woloszyk, one brother: Wallace Behnke, two sisters: Lillian McLeod and Elaine Hand.
Family and friends will gather for visitation on Tuesday, January 21, 2020, at Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, January 22, 2020, at Huron Shores Fellowship from 10 a.m. until the Funeral Service begins at 11 a.m. with Pastor Marlon Smith officiating.
Interment: Holy Cross Cemetery
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Huron Humane Society or Huron Shores Fellowship Church in memory of Marvis.
