Mary Jane Lapczynski

            Mary Jane Lapczynski, age 88, of Alpena, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at home.

            On December 25, 1930, Mary was born to the late Thomas and Jennie (Pieczynski) Skowronek in Alpena, Michigan. She married Frank J. Lapczynski on June 7, 1952, and had 55 years together before he preceded her in death on November 15, 2007. Mary was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.

            Mary is survived by her son Gary Lapczynski of Alpena, MI; one grandson Cody (Fiancé Tonya Wilson) Lapczynski of Alpena, MI; one granddaughter Heather (Luke) Taylor of Conn; two great-grandchildren: August and Amelia; daughter-in-law Marty Lapczynski of Alpena, MI; brother-in-law Bob Lapczynski of Alpena, MI; along with several nieces and nephews.

            She was preceded in death by her son Terry Lapczynski; four brothers: Casimir, Stanley, Eddie, and Chester Skowronek.

            Per her wishes Mary has been taken from the Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home for cremation. A Committal Service will be held on Monday, June 24, 2019, at Holy Cross Cemetery at 1:00 PM.

            Interment: Holy Cross Cemetery

            Memorials may be made to Hospice of Michigan in memory of Mary.
