Matthew Jay Gagnon

March 19, 1964 — October 25, 2020

             Matthew Jay Gagnon, age 56, of Alpena, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 25, 2020, at Midland Regional Medical Center.

            On March 19,1964, Matthew was born to Eugene and Grace (Grenkowicz) Gagnon in Alpena, Michigan. He graduated from AHS in 1982 and went on to college and became a self-employed handy man until he became too ill to work. Matt was well known in the community as a kind, caring person who loved helping all the kids with their projects. He always wanted to think and be positive. We will all remember Matt as a cheerful person that wanted everyone around him to be happy and healthy.

            He is survived by his two loving daughters: Cirrae Lea and Ariana Jean; and their mother and his best friend: Chonda Geddert all of Hubbard Lake, MI; and his mother Grace Gagnon of Alpena, MI; three brothers: Glen Gagnon of Alpena, MI; Gary(Lori) Gagnon of Gladwin, MI, and Marty Gagnon of Alpena, MI; along with his niece and nephews: Tiffany, Craig, Christopher, Connor,Collin and Matthew.

            Matt was preceded in death by his father Eugene Gagnon and his brother Terry Gagnon.

            Family and friends will gather for Memorial Visitation on Friday, November 13, 2020, at Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home from 3pm until the Memorial Service begins at 6pm at Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home with Fr. James Fitzpatrick officiating.

            In memory of Matt memorials may be made to friend’s choice.
