Peter Alex Gino

Peter Alex Gino, age 89, of Lachine passed away peacefully at home on May 1, 2017.
Peter was born to the late Alexander and Josphine (Cordola) Gino, March 14, 1928, in Detroit, Michigan. Pete served in the United States Army. He married Virginia Davis on January 19, 1951, in Hillman, MI; she preceded him in death on May 23, 1986. Pete worked for the Besser Company from 1950 until 1990 when he retired after 40 years in the Heat Treat department. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, and a former member of the Alpena Flying Eagles Motorcycle Club.
He is survived by his two daughters, Dianne (Dennis) O'Neil of Ossineke, MI; Debra (Robert) Senchuk of Alpena, MI; 6 grandchildren: Jill (Brian) Przeslawski, Ashley (Brandon) Jaskolski, Richard Jeremy Gino, Jessica (Bryan) Liske, Peter Allen Bouck, and Courtney O'Neil, and 9 great-grandchildren: Dylan, Haylen, Keegan, Ciera, Gage, Gavyn, Riley, Alexis, Isabelle, and a very special friend of many years, Mary Smolinski.
Peter was preceded in death by his two daughters Anna Marie Gino, Ilene Bouck, and a sister Adeline Gino.
Family and friends will gather at the Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home for visitation on Sunday, May 7, 2017, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. with a Parish Rosary Service at 5 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday, May 8, 2017, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial begins with Rev. Fr. Michael Connor officiating.
Interment: St. Rose Cemetery
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church or Hospice of Michigan in memory of Pete.
