Raymond Anthony Donajkowski, age 79, of Alpena, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 9, 2020, at home.
On April 9, 1941 , Raymond was born to Stephan and Joanne "Della" (Wieschowski) Donajkowski in Alpena, Michigan. He married Michelle Michaud on March 26, 1965, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Raymond worked for D&M Railroad for 25 years retiring in 1991. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Knight of Columbus Third and Fourth Degree, and an active member of the Columbian Squires.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Michelle; six children: Lisa Donajkowski of Ypsilanti, MI; Patti (Wesley) Ranger of Alpena, MI; Amy (David) Smith of Champion, MI; Anthony (Auston) Donajkowski-Lopez of Chicago, Il; Joseph (Heather) Donajkowski of Jefferson City, Tenn.; and Edward Donajkowski of Alpena, MI; three grandchildren: Wyatt James Ranger, Noel and Gabriel Donajkowski; one brother Louis (Clara) Donajkowski of Alpena, MI; one sister Mary (Stanley) Brandenburg of Pinconning, MI; two sister-in-laws: Georgiana Donajkowski and Maxine Donajkowski; along with several nieces and nephews.
Raymond was preceded in death by four brothers: Clemens, David, Robert and Leonard Donajkowski; five sisters: Virginia Donajkowski, Rose Bruski, Martha Swiecicki; Rita Wetzel and infant sister Barbara Donajkowski.
Family and friends will gather for Visitation on Thursday, November 12, 2020, at Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home from 2:00 pm until 8:00pm; a joint Knights of Columbus Service and Parish Prayer Service will begin at 7:00 pm followed by the Third-Degree Presentation of the Mass and Fourth Degree Chalice Presentation. Visitation will continue on Friday, November 13, 2020, at Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home from 10:00 am until the Funeral Service begins at 11:00 am with Fr. Charles Donajkowski officiating at Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home.
