Roy Joe Bushey

Roy "Joe" Bushey, age 71, of Spruce passed away peacefully at home on Friday, September 29, 2017, surrounded by his family.
On November 1, 1945, Roy was born to Leo and Bernice (Champagne) Bushey in Bad Axe, Michigan. He worked for General Motors for 34 years, retiring in 1992, then later operated R.J. Bushey & Sons Custom Lumber. On September 12, 1964 he married Julie Souva at St. Catherine Catholic Church. He was a member of K of C and was on the Alpena Bowling League for 30 years.
Roy is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Julie and their four children: Kenneth Bushey of Spruce, MI; Diane (Tony) Travis of Glennie, MI; Keith (Laycie) Bushey of Alpena, MI; and DeLynn (Tony) Ruppert of Oscoda, MI. Eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, three brothers; Donald (Donna) Bushey of Black River, MI; Michael Bushey of FL; Dennis Bushey of Ossineke, MI; one sister Shirley Tibor of Ossineke, MI; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by six brothers: Russel, Edward "Mel", John, Pete, Alex and Gerry, along with his three sisters: Mary, Patricia, and Elaine.
Family and friends will gather for Memorial Visitation at Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 3, 2017, from 6 pm until 8 pm, with a joint Parish Prayer Service at 7 pm, and Third Degree Presentation of the Mass and Fourth Degree Chalice Presentation following. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at St. Catherine Catholic Church from 11 am until the 12 noon Memorial Service begins.
