Sally Jean Shupert

Sally J. Shupert, 86, of Alpena, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at MyMichigan Medical Center.

Sally was born in Alpena, Michigan on February 28, 1936 to the late Mark and Genevieve (LaCross) Kendziorski. After high school, her love for God led her to enter the convent at Carmelite Monastery in Traverse City, Michigan. Later her life transitioned into becoming a wife and mother. On August 24, 1957, she married William F. Shupert at St. Anne Catholic Church.

Sally became a nurse’s assistant and was employed at Provincial House Nursing Home for 25 years. After retirement, she volunteered with Hospice of Michigan. Sally was a member of St. John Catholic Church. She enjoyed crocheting, and loved all animals, especially feeding and watching the birds.

Surviving are her husband, William; four children, one daughter Mary Ann (Ed) LeClair of Webster Groves, MO., and three sons Randy (Kathy) Shupert of Alpena, Bill (Kendra) Shupert of Alpena, and Patrick (Gina) Shupert of White Lake, MI; seven grandchildren, Chad, Ryan, Jeff, Kristi, Kayla, Alyssa, and Savannah, and five great grandchildren.

Sally was preceded in death by a daughter, Sally Ann, a son Girard, a granddaughter, Arianna Shupert, and a sister Marilyn Grohowski.

Visitation will be Tuesday May 10, 2022 at Karpus Hunter & Ross Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00pm followed with a prayer service. Visitation will continue Wednesday at St. John Catholic Church at 10:00 am until the funeral service at 11:00 am with Father Tyler Bischoff officiating.
