William 'Bill' T. Gauthier

            William "Bill" T. Gauthier, age 91, of Ossineke passed away peacefully on Monday, September 23, 2019, at home surrounded by his family.

            On October 18, 1927, William was born in Black River, Michigan to the late Ovela and Zelma (Rondeau) Gauthier. He married Betty J. Hanner on June 12, 1949; she preceded him in death in 1994, after 45 years of marriage.  Bill worked as a painter for the Besser Company for 30 years before retiring. He later enjoyed spending his time in the woods and operating his own sawmill; along with spending time with his family and friends.

            He is survived by one son: Wayne Gauthier of Alpena, MI; three daughters: Beverly (Pat) Bays of Ossineke, MI; Bonnie Carriveau of Alpena, MI; and Elizabeth (Lee) Cobleigh of Genesee County, MI; 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; along with several nieces and nephews, and his dear friend and son-in-law: Pat Swartzinski.

            Bill was preceded in death by his daughter Peggy L. Gauthier, two sons: William John Gauthier and Steven L. Gauthier; four sisters: Geraldine, Pauline, June Rundell, and Darlene Gonya along with four brothers: Gerold, Howard, Norman and Lloyd Gauthier.

            Per Bill's wishes he has been taken from the Karpus- Hunter Funeral Home for cremation. On Saturday, October 12, 2019, family and friends will gather at St. Catherine Church Cemetery in Ossineke, Michigan at 1 pm for a Grave Side Committal Service with Fr. James Fitzpatrick officiating; followed by a gathering at the Sanborn Township Hall.

            Inurnment: St. Catherine Cemetery

            In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Sanborn Township Fire Department or Hospice of Michigan in memory of Bill.
