William Henry Buchler

William Henry Buchler, age 74, of Alpena passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at home.
William was born on May 12, 1943, in Hillman, Michigan to the late Berthold and Tillie (Radke) Buchler. On November 23, 1963, he married Charlotte Headley. William worked for Thunderbay Manufacturing, retiring in 2005. He was a member of UAW 318, and St. John Lutheran Church of Hillman. William enjoyed spending his time restoring his classic cars and tinkering with small engine repairs.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Charlotte and their five children: Richard (Michele) Buchler, Barbara (Irvin "Dan") Carriveau, James (Roxann) Buchler, Lori (John) Reo all of Alpena, MI; and Lisa (Jeff) Daoust of East Tawas, MI; 18 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. His brother Leonard Buchler of Hubbard Lake, MI; Susan (Jim) Carr of Reese, MI; and Helen Bove of Clio, MI; and several nieces and nephews.

William was preceded in death by three brothers: Herbert, Carl and Edwin "Butch" Buchler.
Family and friends will gather for visitation on Friday, June 16, 2017, from 4 pm until 8 pm at Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home. Visitation will continue at Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home on Saturday, June 17, 2017, from 11 am until the 1 pm Funeral Service begins with Rev. Jason Manley officiating at Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home.
Internment: Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Maple Ridge Township
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Michigan.
